First House: Freak
Studio CD recorded at the Famous Power Station in '94 in "The Big Room," Freak is based on a 70s disco tune that we completely revamped. Thank you Cornelius. Absurd rap by E-Style who's rapping somehow was a regular feature at our Nightengale shows. Live the ending always had a cadenza played by Pete that we should have but didn't use on the studio version.
The Players: E-Style - Interlude Rap • Kenji Hino - Bass, Keys, Percussion, Vocals • Pete Kovachevich - Guitar, Lead Vocals • David Schlossberg - Drums, Percussion, Manual Wah Wah Modulation
First House: New York Truck
The "single" from the self titled first and only studio CD, lyrics by John Duberstein, MD extraordinaire. This tune is quite indicative of the Nightengale jam band sound, ie Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, God Street Wine, etc.
The Players: Kenji Hino - Bass • Pete Kevochevich - Guitar, Vocals • David Schlossberg - Drums
Dreyer Brothers & Allman Brothers (Live at Wetlands): Look Over Yonder
If you thought Allen Woody was a good bassist check out his guitar prowess as he trades licks with Warren during this late night Dreyer/Allman Brothers Show @ Wetlands in '92. I was 24 at the time and although I'd jammed with Warren before, being on stage with Gregg Allman singing and playing organ was quite surreal. The Rise to the Occasion syndrome in full effect.
The Players: Gregg Allman - Organ • Warren Haynes - Lead Vocals, Guitar and Slide Guitar • Allen Woody - 2nd Lead Guitar • Jeff Ganz - Bass • Craig Dreyer - Saxaphone • David Schlossberg - Drums
JayCrash: Fall Out
Duo project, self titled CD circa 1996. That was fun to record. We used an original blackface ADAT recorded to Super VHS tape, bounced down to DAT tape and back to ADAT to overdub the shit out of it. Caleb Sherman's catchy tune and classic production.
The Players: Caleb Sherman - Vocals, Keyboards, Guitars, Bass • David Schlossberg - Drums, Percussion, Guitar Solo
DJAM: Shifterdam has a Smoother Pinky
Circa 2006. Jesse Collins is a sax player who plays with a constantly revolving cast of characters. This is one of our impromptu jams. There is a Smooth Pinky, too, but this one is smoother, maybe one day I'll post the original.
The Players: Jesse Collins - Electric Alto Sax • Adam Fisher - Guitar • Max Mckee - Bass • David Schlossberg - Drums
Turnip Stampede: In My Head
2007 Syracuse studio recording for Turnip Stampede's first and so far only EP/CD. Written by Adam Fisher. This is the second take and I like the first one better, but Adam and Max both liked this one more.
The Players: Adam Fisher • Guitar, Lead Vocals • Max McKee - Bass, Vocals, Tamborine • David Schlossberg - Drums
Turnip Stampede: Verona
Adam's account of a chance meeting with a rather helpful gentleman in Verona, NY - "The Finest of Aroma" - enough said.
The Players: Adam Fisher • Guitar, Lead Vocals • Max McKee - Bass, Vocals • John McConnell - Background Vocals • David Schlossberg - Drums

Dreyer Brothers & Allman Brothers (Live at Wetlands): Stormy Monday
The Allman Brothers classic rendition of Stormy Monday, live at Wetlands during a show that began after midnight and ended after 4 am. Dickey Betts was still in the band but did not show up and without any rehearsals we were up on stage in front of a packed Wetlands audience playing the classic Allman tunes. Gregg called a bunch of tunes from the fillmore east album
that i had grown up listening to, so when we played Stormy Monday I felt pretty good. The arrangement was basically the same as the fillmore album and this for the most part is my favorite recording from the Wetlands gig.
The Players: Gregg Allman - Lead Vocals, Organ • Warren Haynes - Lead Guitar • Allen Woody - Bass • Matt Dreyer - Guitar • Craig Dreyer - Saxaphone • David Schlossberg - Drums
